The World Cup of Hockey’s pre-tournament games were held from September 8, 2016 through September 14, 2016. Team USA and Team North America each played in 3 pre-tournament games.
The 2016 World Cup of Hockey, won by Team Canada, featured eight teams competing for an international hockey championship: The eight teams participating in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey were Team Canada, Team Czech Republic, Team Finland, Team Russia, Team Sweden, Team USA, Team Europe and Team North America.
The USA Hockey-MeiGray Group Game-Worn Authentication Program is proud to offer fans and collectors across the globe the opportunity to own a piece of history ... 20 white game-worn, and 2 game-issued Team USA jerseys, and 10 black game-worn and 1 game-issued Team North America jersey from pre-tournament games .
This auction is for the actual black jersey worn by #34 Auston Matthews.
Matthews played in both games in which Team North America wore black in the pre-tournament, September 11 vs. Team Europe and September 14 vs. Team Czech Republic. He scored a goal and had an assist in the two games. He plays for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
This jersey, a Size 56, has been registered in the USA Hockey-MeiGray Game-Worn Authentication Program as number USA03411.
These 33 jerseys were manufactured by Adidas and prepared for use by Team USA and Team North America in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. Each jersey offered in auction has been security-tagged with an individually serial-numbered USA Hockey-MeiGray Authentication Program inventory tag.

Team North America wore this set of black jerseys in two games:
• September 11, 2016 – 7-4 victory over Team Europe – Bell Centre, Montreal
• September 14, 2016 – 3-2 loss to Team Czech Republic – Consol Energy Center, Pittsburgh
