The U.S. World Junior Championship team won its fifth all-time Gold Medal after a 2-0 victory over Canada in the Gold Medal Game of the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Canada.
The United States won its thirteenth medal in the history of the tournament.
Tournament MVP Trevor Zegras led all players with 18 points. Goaltender Spencer Knight finished the tournament with a 5-1 record, three shutouts, a 1.63 GAA and .940 save percentage. Knight set a new single tournament record with three shutouts, which also set a new career record for USA Hockey.
The 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship was held in Edmonton, Canada from December 25, 2020 through January 5, 2021.
The USA Hockey-MeiGray Group Game-Worn Authentication Program is proud to offer fans and collectors across the globe the opportunity to own a piece of history... the one set of blue jerseys worn during the tournament in five of Team USA’s seven games.
There was one set of retro, one set of white, and one set of blue jerseys manufactured by Nike and prepared for use by the U.S. National Men's Team in the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship. Each jersey was bar-coded before the tournament. The sets of jerseys were collected after each game by Team USA's equipment staff. Each jersey offered in auction has been security-tagged with an individually serial-numbered USA Hockey-MeiGray Authentication Program inventory tag.
The U.S. World Junior Championship Men's Team wore the one set of white jerseys in the lone exhibition game vs. Finland on December 22, 2020. The white set was retained by the team. The one set of retro jerseys were worn in two games vs. Russia and the Gold Medal game vs. Canada. The players retained the one set of retro jerseys.
The U.S. World Junior Championship Gold Medal Winning Team wore the one set of blue jerseys in the following five IIHF World Junior Championship games:
• December 26, 2020, a 11-0 Preliminary Round victory over Austria
• December 29, 2020, a 7-0 Preliminary Round victory over Czech Republic
• December 31, 2020, a 4-0 Preliminary Round victory over Sweden
• January 2, 2021, a 5-2 Quarterfinals victory over Slovakia
• January 4, 2021, a 4-3 Semifinals victory over Finland

Beniers played in all 7 games. He recorded 1 goal and 2 assists in the tournament. He currently plays for the University of Michigan. He is draft eligible in 2021.
