Denver Nuggets guard Markus Howard, a rookie signing following the 2020 NBA Draft, wore these Size 11.5 Air Jordan XX9 "Marquette" Player Exclusive shoes while playing for Marquette University during the 2016-17 NCAA Basketball season.
The shoes are photo-matched to Marquette's 88-80 loss to Butler University on January 16, 2017 at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN. Howard scored a game-high 26 points in 23 minutes.
The Jordan XX9 was the first Jumpman shoe to feature a woven upper and was the lightest Jordan model ever when it released in 2014. Drawing inspiration from Italian tailoring, it incorporated a reengineered Flight Plate for midfoot support and featured a Flight Web fit for lockdown.
This Player Exclusive colorway, given only to Marquette athletes and staff, features a white upper, navy tongue and laces, a navy midsole, and a light blue outsole. Yellow accents are found at the tongue, midsole and ankle.
