The New Jersey Devils and Edmonton Oilers faced off on October 6 in the 2018 NHL Global Series. The Devils defeated the Oilers, 5-2, at Scandinavium in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The Devils wore one new set of jerseys throughout the entire game, with the 2018 Global Series Patch affixed to the right breast of the jersey.
This red jersey is a Size 58G and is registered into the MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program as number R04502.
Each item was authenticated by a Devils-MeiGray Group Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program Director immediately after it was used. Each jersey has been security-tagged, serial-numbered, and registered into the NHL-MGG Population Report.
The Devils and Oilers played the NHL’s 23rd game in Europe and its 11th in Sweden (the first in Gothenburg) as part of the 2018 NHL Global Series. The contest showcased the two most recent Hart Trophy winners, Taylor Hall and Connor McDavid, in the season opener for only the second time in league history. Both teams spent time in Europe for training camp; the Devils working in Switzerland and playing SC Bern in an exhibition game, while the Oilers practiced in Germany and faced Cologne in an exhibition.
