The U.S. World Junior Championship team captured the silver medal after a hard-fought 3-2 loss to Finland in the Gold Medal Game of the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC. The U.S. National Junior Team extended its unprecedented medal streak in tournament play to four straight IIHF World Junior Championships.
The 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship was held in Vancouver and Victoria British Columbia from December 25, 2018 through January 5, 2019. The U.S. World Junior Championship Men's Team played its games at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, BC, and Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC.
The USA Hockey-MeiGray Group Game-Worn Authentication Program is proud to offer fans and collectors across the globe the opportunity to own a piece of history... the one set of blue jerseys worn during the tournament.
There was one set of blue, one set of white, and one set of Retro jerseys manufactured by Nike and prepared for use by the U.S. National Men's Team in the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship. Each jersey was bar-coded before the tournament. The sets of jerseys were collected after each game by Team USA's equipment staff. Each jersey offered in auction has been security-tagged with an individually serial-numbered USA Hockey-MeiGray Authentication Program inventory tag.
The U.S. World Junior Championship Men's Team wore the set of blue jerseys in three games, and the set of white Retro jerseys in four games, One set of white jerseys were produced, but were not worn in the tournament. The players were given the set of Retro jerseys. USA Hockey retained the white set. The set of blue jerseys was also worn in a 6-2 pre-tournament game victory over the Czech Republic.
The U.S. World Junior Championship Silver Medal Winning Team wore the blue jerseys in the following IIHF World Junior Championship games:
*December 26, 2018, a 2-1 victory over Slovakia.
*December 28, 2018, a 8-2 victory over Kazakhstan.
*December 29, 2018, a 5-4 overtime loss to Sweden.
This auction is for the actual blue jersey used by #20 K'Andre Miller.
Miller played in 6 games. He had 1 assist in the tournament. Miller currently plays for the University of Wisconsin. He was drafted by the New York Rangers in the first round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
This jersey, a 56, has been registered in the USA Hockey-MeiGray Game-Worn Authentication Program as number USA09745.
