On a picture-perfect New Year's Day in front of 76,126 at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, IN, the National Hockey League's eleventh annual classic matched two Original Six franchises. The Boston Bruins defeated the Chicago Blackhawks, 4-2, in the 2019 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic.
The NHL-MeiGray Group Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program is proud to offer fans and collectors across the globe the opportunity to own a piece of history…an actual stick used by #88 David Pastrnak of the Boston Bruins during the game.
And what a stick … one of only three customized uniquely for this game with the help of Bauer and Pastrnak’s vivid imagination.
The Bruins’ star winger teamed with Bauer to honor his home country, Boston, and Notre Dame.
First, there was the pasta emoji, to signify Pastrnak’s nickname. Then he added the dP88, a personalized logo. Just above the blade, in good chrome, stood the Boston skyline. On the opposite side, the Prague, Czech Republic skyline.
Notre Dame Stadium’s yardline markers and a two shamrocks could be seen on the stick, as well as the 2019 Winter Classic details. Then Pastrnak paid homage to his origins, as Bauer incorporated the Czech Lion on top of the shaft above the name bar. The lion comes from the Czech coat of arms, which is featured on their national team jerseys. Finally, Pastrnak added a few Gladiator references, from his favorite movie.
And to show he’s still a typical NHLer, "PASTRNAK" has been printed on the shaft. Both the handle and blade of this stick have been taped.

This stick was collected and authenticated by a MGG representative at Notre Dame Stadium immediately after the game.
