Welcome to USA Hockey-MeiGray Group's 2022 IIHF Men’s World Championship Team USA Jersey Auction.
The 2022 IIHF Men’s World Championship took place in Tampere and Helsinki, Finland from May 13 2022 through May 28 2022. The U.S. played its games at the Nokia Arena in Tampere and at Helsinki Ice Hall in Helsinki.
The 2022 U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Team finished fifth among 12 teams.
The U.S. Men's National Team competed in Group B alongside Austria, Czechia, Finland, Great Britain, Latvia, Norway and Sweden. The U.S. finished the preliminary round fourth in Group B to setup a matchup with top-seeded Switzerland in the quarterfinals. The U.S. earned a 3-0 win to advance to the semifinals for the second straight year. Team USA fell to Finland, 4-3, in the semifinals and then dropped the bronze medal game to Czechia to finish the world championship fourth of 16 teams.

There was one set of navy, one set of white, and one set of royal blue jerseys manufactured by Nike and prepared for use by the U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey team at the 2022 IIHF Men’s World Championship. The sets of jerseys were collected after each game by Team USA's equipment staff. Each jersey offered in auction has been security-tagged with an individually serial-numbered USA Hockey-MeiGray Authentication Program inventory tag.
The U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Team wore the set of white jerseys in five games, the set of navy jerseys in three games, and the set of royal blue jerseys in two games. The players retained the set of navy jerseys. USA Hockey also retained the following 3 white jerseys; Nick Blankenburg, Jon Merrill and John Hayden. They also retained the following royal blue jerseys; Luke Hughes, Seth Jones and Nate Schmidt.
The U.S. Men's World Championship Team wore the white jerseys in the following games:
May 15, 2022, a 3-2 overtime victory over Austria.
May 16, 2022, a 4-1 loss to Finland.
May 26, 2022, a 3-0 victory over Switzerland in Quarterfinals.
May 28, 2022, a 4-3 loss to Finland in Semifinals.
May 29, 2022, a 8-4 loss to Czechia in Bronze Medal Game.
The U.S. Men's Olympic Team wore the royal blue jerseys in the following games:
May 19, 2022, a 3-0 victory over Great Britain.
May 24, 2022, a 4-2 victory over Norway.
This auction is for the actual white jersey worn by #27 Alex Galchenyuk.
Galchenyuk played in all 10 games during the 2022 IIHF World Championship. He registered 1 goal and 4 assists in the tournament. He played in 5 games while wearing this jersey, registering 1 goal and 2 assists. He is currently a free agent. He played last season for the Arizona Coyotes. He has also played for the Montreal Canadiens, Pittsburgh Penguins, Minnesota Wild, Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs.
