Wade Redden wore this white jersey with the "Roger" Patch honoring Roger Neilson while playing for the Ottawa Senators during the 2003-04 National Hockey League season.
Neilson, a former Senators assistant coach, was one of hockey's great innovators. Neilson earned the nickname "Captain Video" because of his early use of videotape to analyze opponents. Neilson was also notorious for exploiting loopholes in the rulebook. He inadvertently started the Vancouver Canucks' "Towel Power" tradition during the 1982 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
This jersey shows multiple repairs on each sleeve, repairs on each shoulder and a two inch repair along the #6 on the back.
Every jersey worn by each of the participating MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program clubs contains a uniquely numbered inventory tag sewn into the jersey BEFORE IT IS WORN BY THE PLAYER ON THE ICE. This tag is equipped with covert security features regularly checked by MGG Program Directors so we can tell who wore the jersey, and when.
