The six PWHL teams descended upon Utica, NY's Nexus Center for four days of exhibition games, with each team playing three games. MeiGray staff was in attendance to authenticate when these jerseys were worn, and to take them straight off the ice. Rachel McQuigge wore this red jersey while playing for PWHL Ottawa during the Inaugural PWHL Player Evaluation Camp.
PWHL Ottawa played three games during the Evaluation Camp, losing to Minnesota, 8-4, on December 4, losing to New York, 2-1, on December 5 and losing to Boston, 3-1, on December 7.
McQuigge was wearing this jersey when she backstopped New York in their final game of the preseason camp on December 7, 2023 against PWHL Boston at the Nexus Center in Utica, NY. McQuigge faced 28 shots in regulation and overtime and made 25 saves. In the shootout, she denied four of the five shooters, helping Ottawa win their first shootout of the camp.
McQuigge joins PWHL Ottawa after playing her first professional season with the Metropolitan Riveters of the PHF. A graduate of Princeton University, McQuigge finished her collegiate career with an overall record of 29-22-8, a .933 save percentage, and nine shutouts.
Every jersey worn by each of these participating MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program clubs contains a uniquely numbered inventory tag sewn into the jersey BEFORE IT IS WORN BY THE PLAYER ON THE ICE. This tag is equipped with covert security features regularly checked by MGG Program Directors so we can tell who wore the jersey, and when.
