The MeiGray Group Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program is proud to offer fans and collectors across the globe the opportunity to own a piece of history ... a puck used to score a goal by Miles Wood of the New Jersey Devils during the 2020-21 National Hockey League Season.
This is the Puck and Player Tracking technology Game Puck that was used by Miles Wood to score the 50th goal of his NHL career. The goal, Wood's 2nd of the season, was scored at 16:15 of the first period and was assisted by Ty Smith and Jack Hughes. The assist was Smith's 1st NHL career assist and 2nd NHL career point. The New Jersey Devils defeated the Boston Bruins, 2-1 in overtime, on January 16, 2021 at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
This Puck and Player Tracking technology Game Puck features sensors embedded on both sides of the puck, with the ability to track the pucks at a rate of 2,000 times per second in real time with inch-level accuracy. The NHL used these technologically unique pucks in regular-season games from January 13, 2021 through January 18, 2021. The league stopped using these special pucks when concerns were raised about the pucks' performance.
This puck is registered into the MGG Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program as number MGA24319.
Each puck was lifted off the ice by an on-ice NHL official, identified and secured by an NHL off-ice official in the arena during or after the game, and then authenticated and affixed with a hologram by MeiGray.
MeiGray is collecting and authenticating pucks from six of our program teams: From games in Boston, Columbus, Nashville, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Washington. MGG has also collected and authenticated pucks from games in the Toronto and Edmonton bubbles during the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs and from previous seasons in Dallas, Philadelphia, Vegas and New York's Madison Square Garden. Scorers throughout the NHL, including some of the game's greatest goal-scorers, have notched goals that MGG has authenticated, and is proud to offer for immediate bid.
Additionally, with MeiGray's Game-Worn Jersey Program, every jersey worn by the participating teams contains a uniquely numbered inventory tag sewn into the jersey BEFORE IT IS WORN BY THE PLAYER ON THE ICE. This tag is equipped with security features regularly checked by MGG Game-Worn Jersey Program Directors so we can tell who wore the jersey, and when.
