Melissa Channell wore this white jersey while playing for PWHL Minnesota during the inaugural 2024 Professional Women's Hockey League season, including during the team's inaugural game against PWHL Boston on January 3, 2024 at Tsongas Arena in Lowell, MA. Minnesota defeated Boston, 3-2.
PWHL Minnesota wore this first set of white jerseys in eight games from January 3 through March 3, 2024.
PWHL Toronto selected PWHL Minnesota - in the midst of a five-game losing streak - as its Walter Cup Semifinals opponent, per the PWHL's unique new rule. After being shut out in the first two games of the series, Minnesota went on to make an improbable run, holding Toronto to one goal in the next three games and completing a reverse sweep to reach the Walter Cup Finals.
In a captivating series that went five games, Minnesota celebrated what they thought was a series-winning double overtime goal in Game 4, but was overturned due to goaltender interference. Nevertheless, Minnesota stormed into Tsongas Arena in Lowell, MA for Game 5 and locked down PWHL Boston with a 3-0 victory to win the first ever Walter Cup.
Channell's four Playoff assists tied three others for first in the PWHL. She also tied for the league lead with four players at +6. During the regular season, she played in every game, contributing two assists after starting camp with PWHL Toronto.
