Welcome to USA Hockey-MeiGray 2022 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship Team USA Jersey Auction .
The tournament was originally scheduled to be held from December 26, 2021 through January 5, 2022 in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta. On December 29, 2021 the IIHF Council decided that, due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19, the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship would be cancelled to ensure the health and safety of all participants.
After being rescheduled, the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship was held in Edmonton, Canada from August 9, 2022 through August 20, 2022.
The U.S. won Group B with a perfect 4-0 record by defeating Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Sweden.Team USA fell in the Quarterfinal, 4-2, to Czechia, and finished fifth in the tournament.
The USA Hockey-MeiGray Game-Worn Authentication Program is proud to offer fans and collectors across the globe the opportunity to own a piece of history... the one set of blue jerseys worn during the tournament in two of Team USA’s five games.
There was one set of one set of white, and one set of blue jerseys manufactured by Nike and prepared for use by the U.S. in the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship. The sets of jerseys were collected after each game by Team USA's equipment staff. Each jersey offered in auction has been security-tagged with an individually serial-numbered USA Hockey-MeiGray Authentication Program inventory tag.
The U.S. World Junior Championship Men's Team wore the one set of blue jerseys in the one game played during the originally scheduled tournament prior to the tournament being cancelled, vs. Slovakia on December 25, 2021 at WP Centrium in Red Deer, Alberta. The one set of blue jerseys was also worn in the exhibition game vs. Finland on August 5, 2022. The one white set was retained by the team.
The U.S. World Junior Championship Team wore the one set of blue jerseys in the following two IIHF World Junior Championship games:
• August 9, 2022, a 5-1 Preliminary Round victory over Germany.
• August 14, 2022, a 3-2 Preliminary Round victory over Sweden
This auction is for the actual blue jersey worn by #15 Matt Coronato.
Coronato played in all 5 games during the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship. He registered 4 goals and 3 assists in the tournament. He played in both games while wearing this jersey, registering 1 assist vs. Germany and 2 goals vs. Sweden. He currently plays for Harvard University. He was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the 1st round of the 2021 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
This jersey, a Size 54, has been registered in the USA Hockey-MeiGray Game-Worn Authentication Program as number USA07453.
