The Connor McDavid-MeiGray Game-Used Authentication Program is proud to offer fans and collectors across the globe the opportunity to own a piece of history... a jersey worn by #97 Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers during the 2015-16 National Hockey League season.
Connor McDavid wore this white jersey while playing for the Edmonton Oilers during a 2-1 overtime victory over the Buffalo Sabres on March 1, 2016 at KeyBank Arena in Buffalo, NY. The jersey is photo-matched to Getty Images #513256120.
McDavid scored his first career overtime goal with just over a minute to go in the game. After Jack Eichel put an effort wide on the opposite end, McDavid took the puck from the near boards at the top of the right circle and went coast-to-coast, sneaking in a backhand effort past Robin Lehner from a tight angle. The goal was McDavid's 12th of the season (and of his career) and he also scored the Oilers' other goal 22 seconds into the game. To date, McDavid has 16 overtime winners.
McDavid missed 37 games as a rookie but still managed to score over a point per game, which he's done in every season of his career. He tallied 16 goals and 32 assists in 48 games as a 19-year-old. Fast forward eight years and he's scored 100 points in every season except for 2019-20, which was shortened; he's topped 120 points in each of the last three seasons; he's won five Art Ross Trophies, three Hart Memorial Trophies and one Rocket Richard Trophy and is hungry to get his name on the Stanley Cup.
