The PHF-MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program is proud to offer fans and collectors across the globe the opportunity to own a piece of history ... the jersey worn by #24 Ann-Sophie Bettez of the Montreal Force during the 2022- 2023 Premier Hockey Federation season.
Ann-Sophie Bettez wore this Maroon Set 1 jersey while playing for the Montreal Force during the 2022-2-23 Premier Hockey Federation regular season.
Bettez was wearing this jersey when she assisted on an overtime game-winning goal on January 22, 2023 against the Boston Pride at Centre Premier Tech in Riviere-du-loup, QC. After a 5-0 sweep on Saturday, the Force fought back hard in front of a passionate home crowd. Regulation finished with the score tied at 1-1, and Boston had won all three of their overtime games so far in the season. With a minute left in overtime, Jade Downie-Landry potted the game-winning goal on Bettez' assist in a massive character win for the young franchise. Both Bettez and Downie-Landry tallied their 15th point in the PHF on the goal.
Serving as captain for the inaugural season of the Montreal Force, Bettez led the team with 11 goals, tying for sixth-most across the PHF, and made 11 assists. She scored the first goal in franchise history on November 5, 2022 against the Buffalo Beauts. On January 14, 2023, playing in front of former members of the Pittsburgh Pennies, she scored her first hat trick in the PHF, helping propel the Force to a comeback win. Bettez was selected for the PHF All-Star Game and was also invited to the ECHL All-Star Game, where she hit four targets in 10.1 seconds in the Accuracy Shooting Competition and recorded a goal and two assists in the three-on-three tournament.
In five seasons at McGill University, Bettez was named CIS Rookie of the Year in 2008 and CIS Player of the Year in 2012. She played in five consecutive championship games while helping the program earn its first three titles, and remains remains the program leader in goals with 85 in 91 regular season games. Bettez was named the Rookie of the Year in the Canadian Women's Hockey League in 2013, Most Valuable Player in 2014, and won the Clarkson Cup with Les Canadiennes in 2017. In 2021, she became a Canadian Secret Cup champion with Team Bauer (Montreal) of the PWHPA. Representing her country, Bettez won a bronze medal with Team Canada at the 2019 World Championship.
The Force's Inaugural Season jerseys featured an eye-catching fleur de lis motif integrated into both the crest and striping. Its colors take inspiration from the Montreal Maroons, paying homage to hockey's history in Montreal and the province of Quebec. The "F" crest is particularly significant as well with its top point serving as an arrow pointing forward as a tribute to the momentum of women's hockey in Canada and around the world.
This jersey is a size MD and is registered into the PHF-MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program as number MGG008804.
MGG also works with the ECHL, USA Hockey, and six National Hockey League clubs: Columbus Blue Jackets, Nashville Predators, New Jersey Devils, Philadelphia Flyers, Seattle Kraken and Washington Capitals.
