Jazz Chisholm wore these cleats while playing for the Miami Marlins during an 8-2 loss to the Washington Nationals on September 14, 2021 at Nationals Park in Washington, DC. The cleats are autographed and photo-matched to scuff marks and dirt patterns on the inside and toe of the right shoe.
Chisholm batted .248 with 18 home runs, 53 RBI and 23 steals as a 23-year-old rookie in 2021. The promising middle infielder nearly matched his rookie homer and RBI totals in his first 60 games in 2022, with 13 homers and 45 RBIs along with an improved eye at the plate (.325 OBP).
These cleats, which were customized and painted by Stadium Custom Kicks, feature a purple-and-gold design inspired by Prince's hit song "Purple Rain." "Prince Jazz" is painted on the outside with a crown above the tip of the Swoosh.
Currently, the average Minor League baseball player earns less than the federal minimum wage, yet must locate and pay for their own housing, and receives no financial or logistical support for nutrition and equipment needs. Furthermore, as 90% of Minor League ballplayers do not reach the Major Leagues, most never receive even minimal support after their playing careers are over.
