The PWHL-MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program is proud to offer fans and collectors across the globe the opportunity to own a piece of history ... the jersey worn by #21 Liz Schepers of the PWHL Minnesota during the inaugural PWHL Player Evaluation Camp.
The six PWHL teams descended upon Utica, NY's Nexus Center for four days of exhibition games, with each team playing three games. MeiGray staff was in attendance to authenticate when these jerseys were worn, and to take them straight off the ice. Liz Schepers wore this white jersey while playing for PWHL Minnesota during the inaugural PWHL Player Evaluation Camp.
PWHL Minnesota played three games during the Evaluation Camp, defeating Ottawa 9-4 on December 4, earning a regulation win over Toronto that finished 5-5 after the shootout on December 5, and defeating Montreal 4-3 on December 7.
Schepers was wearing this jersey when she scored the game-winning goal on December 7, 7, 2023 against PWHL Montreal at the Nexus Center in Utica, NY. Racing down the slot, Schepers was able to elevate her shot over the rising glove of Montreal goaltender Ann-Renee Desbiens into the top corner of the net. The unassisted goal was the fourth of the game for Minnesota and secured them their eventual 4-3 victory. Minnesota became the first of only two teams to win all of their games at the evaluation camp.
Schepers joins PWHL Minnesota coming off her first professional season with the Minnesota Whitecaps, where she finished fourth in team scoring. The former Ohio State University captain brings championship pedigree back to her home state after helping the Buckeyes win the program's first NCAA Championship in 2022. She played her first games with Team USA during the 2022-23 Rivalry Series.
Every jersey worn by each of these participating MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program clubs contains a uniquely numbered inventory tag sewn into the jersey BEFORE IT IS WORN BY THE PLAYER ON THE ICE.
