The PWHL-MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program is proud to offer fans and collectors across the globe the opportunity to own a piece of history ... the jersey prepared for use by #33 Lauren Bench of the PWHL Minnesota during the Professional Women's Hockey League's inaugural 2024 season.
MeiGray has teamed up with the Professional Women's Hockey League to bring fully authenticated jerseys from its inaugural season to fans and collectors as the league's popularity continues to skyrocket.
This white jersey was prepared for use by Lauren Bench while playing for PWHL Minnesota during the inaugural 2024 Professional Women's Hockey League season.
PWHL Toronto selected PWHL Minnesota - in the midst of a five-game losing streak - as its Walter Cup Semifinals opponent, per the PWHL's unique new rule. After being shut out in the first two games of the series, Minnesota went on to make an improbable run, holding Toronto to one goal in the next three games and completing a reverse sweep to reach the Walter Cup Finals.
In a captivating series that went five games, Minnesota celebrated what they thought was a series-winning double overtime goal in Game 4, but was overturned due to goaltender interference. Nevertheless, Minnesota stormed into Tsongas Arena in Lowell, MA for Game 5 and locked down PWHL Boston with a 3-0 victory to win the first ever Walter Cup.
Bench played with MoDo Hockey in the SDHL in 2023, where she finished with a 919 save percentage and a 14-12-0 record. An alumna of the University of Minnesota and Bemidji State University, Bench earned 13 shutouts and a cumulative .917 save percentage in her five NCAA seasons.
