Arch-rivals for much of the later quarter century of their respective 50-season histories, the Philadelphia Flyers Alumni and Pittsburgh Penguins Alumni skated to a 3-3 tie in the 50th Anniversary Alumni Game on January 14, 2017 in front of 19,727 fans at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
Dave Brown, Danny Briere and Eric Desjardins scored for the Flyers Alumni, who led by scores of 2-0 and 3-1 in the third period before Ryan Malone scored a pair of goals for the Pittsburgh side and Tyler Kennedy knotted the score with four minutes remaining in regulation.

The Flyers Alumni honored their storied history by wearing 50th Anniversary jerseys that had the Flyers' 50th Anniversary patch affixed to the right shoulder and the Ed Snider Memorial Patch affixed to the left shoulder.
