The PWHL-MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program is proud to offer fans and collectors across the globe the opportunity to own a piece of history ... the jersey worn by #17 Ella Shelton of the PWHL New York during the Professional Women's Hockey League's inaugural 2024 season.
MeiGray has teamed up with the Professional Women's Hockey League to bring fully authenticated jerseys from its historic inaugural season to fans and collectors as the popularity of the league and women's sports continues to skyrocket.
The jersey includes the alternate captain's "A."
PWHL New York wore this first set of teal jerseys in eight games from its home opener on January 5, 2024 through March 25, 2024. This jersey is photo-matched to New York's 5-2 loss to PWHL Montreal on January 10, 2024 at UBS Arena in Elmont, NY. the team's inaugural game at the venue. Shelton scored PWHL New York's first power play goal in franchise history in that game.
Shelton, a 2022 Olympic Gold Medalist and a three-time IIHF World Championships Gold Medalist with Team Canada, scored seven goals with seven assists in 22 games over two seasons with the PWHPA from 2020-21 to 2022-23. She was arguably the most dynamic defender in the PWHL in 2024, leading PWHL defenders in goals (seven) and points (21) and tied for the lead in assists (14) while consistently logging huge chunks of ice time (over 25:00 in 17 games). She was named a member of the PWHL 2024 First All-Star Team for her efforts.
