Connor McDavid wore these CCM skates while playing for the Edmonton Oilers during the 2021-2022 National Hockey League playoffs.
They have been exclusively authorized for authentication and distribution by the Connor McDavid-Edmonton Oilers-MeiGray Group Game-Used Equipment Program, designed to protect the integrity of the dynamic NHL superstar's game-used items.
The skates have been photo-matched to 11 games, including the following:
Game 7 of the first round of the playoffs on May 14, 2022 against the Los Angeles Kings at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, CA. - McDavid scored a goal and an assist to lead the NHL in scoring after the first round with 14 points, the third-most in a first round series in NHL history behind Mario Lemieux (17, 1992) and Wayne Gretzky (15, 1987).
Game 4 of the second round of the playoffs on May 24, 2022 against the Calgary Flames at Rogers Place in Edmonton, AB - McDavid extended his multipoint streak to seven games, tying Darryl Sittler (Toronto Maple Leafs, 1977) and Tony Currie (St. Louis Blues, 1981) for second-longest in NHL history; Wayne Gretzky had an eight-game streak with the Oilers in 1983. McDavid had 10 multipoint performances through the first 11 games of the 2022 postseason and led the League at that point with 25 points (six goals, 19 assists).
Game 5 of the second round of the playoffs on May 26, 2022 against the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, AB. - McDavid became the second Oilers player to score a series-clinching overtime goal in Battle of Alberta playoff history, joining Esa Tikkanen (1991). The last time Calgary won a best-of-7 series against Edmonton was in 1986.
McDavid set new career highs in goals (44), assists (79) and points (123) in 2021-22. He finished the 2022 postseason with 33 points, the most of any player, in only 16 games.
