The Connor McDavid-MeiGray Game-Used Authentication Program is proud to offer fans and collectors across the globe the opportunity to own a piece of history... a stick used by #97 Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers during the 2015-16 National Hockey League season.
Connor McDavid used this CCM JetSpeed FT5 stick while playing for the Edmonton Oilers during the 2015-16 National Hockey League regular season.
This stick is photo-matched to the Oilers' 2-1 overtime victory over the Buffalo Sabres on March 1, 2016 at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, NY. The stick is photo-matched to both of McDavid's goals during the game, scored at 22 seconds of the first period and at 3:48 of overtime.
McDavid scored his first career overtime goal while using this stick with just over a minute to go in the game. After Jack Eichel put an effort wide on the opposite end, McDavid took the puck from the near boards at the top of the right circle and went coast-to-coast, sneaking in a backhand effort past Robin Lehner from a tight angle. To date, McDavid has 16 overtime winners.
MeiGray took possession of this stick directly from the Oilers on March 4, 2016. It has been registered with hologram number MGA84550. The hologram has been affixed near the top of the shaft.The blade of this stick has been retaped.
This game-used stick has been exclusively authorized for authentication and distribution by the Connor McDavid-Edmonton Oilers-MeiGray Group Game-Used Equipment Program, designed to protect the integrity of the NHL superstar's game-used items.
McDavid missed 37 games as a rookie but still managed to score over a point per game, which he's done in every season of his career. He tallied 16 goals and 32 assists in 48 games as a 19-year-old. Fast forward eight years and he's scored 100 points in every season except for 2019-20, which was shortened; he's topped 120 points in each of the last three seasons; he's won five Art Ross Trophies, three Hart Memorial Trophies and one Rocket Richard Trophy and is hungry to get his name on the Stanley Cup.
