From the MeiGray Archives comes a new series of auctions, this one featuring practice jerseys acquired directly from the Toronto Maple Leafs when they were a MeiGray partner in the 2000s in the NHL Game-Worn Jersey Program.
This white jersey was prepared for use by Brian Leetch during practices for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Drafted ninth overall by the New York Rangers in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft, Leetch went on to play 1,205 games with the Rangers, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Boston Bruins across his 18-year career. Leetch scored 247 goals and made 781 assists in the NHL. He was awarded the Calder Memorial Trophy for the NHL's Rookie of the Year in 1989 and the James Norris Memorial Trophy for the league's top defender in 1992 and 1997. In 1994, he became a Stanley Cup Champion with the Rangers and was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy for the Most Valuable Player in the playoffs. Representing his country, Leetch won a silver medal with Team USA at the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. He was named to the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 2009, the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2010, the first year he was eligible, and the IIHF Hall of Fame in 2023.
MeiGray received these jerseys directly from the Toronto Maple Leafs after the 2007-08 NHL season.
