Ann-Renee Desbiens wore this cream jersey while playing for PWHL Montreal during the Professional Women's Hockey League's inaugural 2024 season, including during the team's inaugural game against PWHL Ottawa on January 2, 2024 at TD Place in Ottawa, ON. Montreal won the game in overtime, 3-2, in front of a sellout crowd of 8,138, which set a new attendance record for professional women's hockey.
The jersey is photo-matched to the team's inaugural game and to their 4-3 shootout loss to PWHL New York on February 21, 2024 at UBS Arena in Elmont, NY.
PWHL Montreal wore this first set of cream jerseys in seven games from January 2, 2024 through February 21, 2024.
Desbiens posted a 2.30 goals against average and a .915 save percentage with one shutout in 16 games during 2024. She was one of the first three players that PWHL Montreal signed to a contract prior to the inaugural draft. She is the current starter for the Canadian national team, most recently earning the Directorate award for best goaltender at the 2023 IIHF World Championship and backstopping Team Canada to a gold medal at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Desbiens was a top-three finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award in 2016 before winning the award in 2017. She has won championships in the CWHL in 2012 and the PWHPA in 2023.
