The shoes are photo-matched to the Bulls' 101-92 victory over the Washington Wizards on December 28, 2018 at Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. Markkanen registered a Double-Double. He scored 14 points with a game-high 14 rebounds.
The LeBron 8 followed up the success of the LeBron 7 by using the same full-length Air Max 97 Air unit in the midsole. Flywire technology is found at multiple points for stability, and the shoe uses an inner bootie system for a comfortable fit.
The "China" colorway was first released in 2010 in China before making its way to the United States. The official release date was December 7, 2010. The midsole features a red speckle pattern, and the tongue and heel feature Imperial guardian lions in place of James' signature lion head logos.
